CNBC wished to bring a new look to their main studio at Fleet Place.
The objective was to introduce a new studio set that would accommodate additional camera points and angles. This involved expanding the studio footprint within an already tightly occupied floor space.
We space-planned the complete 13,000 sq' footprint and took the opportunity to reorganise the departments and managerial teams to provide a more efficient and effective working environment. Storage and desking was reviewed and efficiencies gained by replacing filing cabinets and L shaped desks with cupboards and modular desking of 1600 x 800mm.
The desking was equipped with screening and integrated monitor arms that removed PC equipment from the desktop. These efficiencies gained approximately 8% of the floor area previously used for administrative functions and this was allocated to the main studio area. The existing reception and breakout space was also integrated into the main studio area, the reception and studio being segregated by a new faceted fully glazed wall which provides a vista across the impressive studio area to visitors and staff as they enter the floor space.
Touch down and breakout space was equipped with contemporary but comfortable furnishings allowing staff to escape from their desks to a very different environment.
The project took five months and, to minimise disruption to the business, was spread over five major phases of work, much of the work being undertaken outside of normal working hours to accommodate the live transmissions which continued without disruption during this project.
Prestige were responsible for office space-planning, scheduling rationale, project management and construction delivery.
The project was delivered on time and on budget.
