LSA International, a leading designer and manufacturer of contemporary handmade glass and high-quality porcelain, moved their headquarters from Sunbury to a newly acquired premises in Richmond. The company sought a workspace that would reflect their sophisticated brand image while also providing a functional and inspiring environment for their team.

Project overview

Prestige Interiors was appointed to refurbish LSA International’s new premises. The primary objective was to create an office space that would embody the elegance and craftsmanship of LSA’s products. The project included a complete overhaul of the interior design, incorporating both office and showroom elements to showcase their extensive product range.

Design brief

The design brief for LSA International’s new Richmond headquarters was to:

  • Create a modern, stylish, and functional workspace.
  • Integrate a showroom area to display LSA’s products.
  • Optimise the use of space for both collaborative and private work areas.
  • Enhance natural light and create an open, airy atmosphere.
  • Use high-quality materials and finishes that align with LSA’s brand values.

Challenges

The project presented several challenges:

  1. Space planning: Balancing the need for an open-plan office with the inclusion of a showroom and private meeting areas.
  2. Brand integration: Ensuring the design reflected LSA’s brand ethos and complemented their product aesthetic.
  3. Timeline: Completing the refurbishment within a tight schedule to minimise disruption to LSA’s operations.

Solutions

To address these challenges, Prestige Interiors implemented the following solutions:

Space planning and design

  • Open-plan layout: Designed an open-plan office to foster collaboration, while incorporating strategically placed partitions to create private workspaces.
  • Showroom integration: Developed a dedicated showroom area at the front of the premises to prominently display LSA’s products. This space was designed with flexible shelving and display units to accommodate different collections.
  • Meeting areas: Created multiple meeting rooms of varying sizes, equipped with state-of-the-art AV technology to support presentations and virtual meetings.

Brand integration

  • Colour scheme: Used a neutral colour palette accented with LSA’s signature hues to maintain brand consistency.
  • Materials and finishes: Selected high-quality materials such as natural wood, glass, and polished concrete to reflect LSA’s commitment to craftsmanship.
  • Custom furnishings: Commissioned bespoke furniture pieces that combine functionality with elegant design, mirroring LSA’s product style.

Enhancing natural light

  • Glass partitions: Utilised glass partitions to create a sense of openness and allow natural light to permeate throughout the office.
  • Lighting design: Installed a combination of ambient and task lighting to create a bright and inviting environment. LED lighting was chosen for its energy efficiency and longevity.

The refurbishment of LSA International’s new Richmond premises was completed on time and within budget. The result is a sophisticated and functional workspace that not only meets the needs of their employees but also beautifully showcases their products.

Feedback from LSA has been overwhelmingly positive, with employees praising the improved work environment and the elegant showroom area.
